Inspiring Passion For Life
Scotts Valley School offers three different therapeutic program options to fit various student and family needs. Please call our office at 800-823-1723 for a more complete description of these options.
OREGON CAMPUS PROGRAM
This option consists of a comprehensive therapeutic and academic program lasting a minimum of 6 months for teens whose struggles are more resistant to quick resolution. Students enrolled in this program remain on the Oregon campus for their entire stay with us. On-campus activities include basketball and weight training in a full-sized gymnasium, baseball and football outdoors on the grounds of our 15-acre campus. Available activities off-campus include white-water river rafting, local hiking and camping, deep-sea fishing, and attendance at an Oregon Ducks game in Eugene.

COMBINED OREGON CAMPUS/FIJIAN EXPERIENCE PROGRAM
This option combines the best of the Oregon Campus program with an awesome opportunity to study abroad on the island of Viti Levu in the beautiful Fiji Islands. Students begin their stay with us on our Oregon Campus and upon completion of the Freedom and Discovery training modules fly with supervising staff to Los Angeles and on to Nadi International airport in Fiji, from where they are transported, to our 15-acre plantation facility near the Coral Coast. Enrollment in the Fiji program is limited to 30 students.
The residents of Fiji are known as “the happiest people on earth,” where local high school students are highly competitive for the best marks in their class. Education and health are stressed in this South Pacific paradise where rugby and soccer are national pass-times, and where church choirs compete in a musical contest each year in Suva. While on campus students study the same course work under the same rules and structure as at the Oregon Campus. The facility at Fijian Experience includes a papaya and banana plantation, coconut palms, and mango trees. Available off-campus activities include a wide range of activities and experiences only available in Fiji, including swimming and surfing at beautiful palm-shaded local beaches, observing “Poojas” and “Mekes” at local Hindu Temples and Fijian resorts, para-sailing, horse-back riding at local beaches, snorkeling, long-boat reef fishing overnight with local fishermen, attending authentic Fijian fire-walking events, and world-class deep-sea marlin fishing.
Students who are enrolled in the Fiji Experience Program are forever changed in a positive way by their experiences. The Fijian attitude that every day is a great opportunity despite having little money (or the junk it can buy) forever changes the outlook of students in this program. You can take the student out of Fiji, but you’ll never take Fiji out of the student.

90-DAY OREGON CAMPUS PROGRAM
Our 90-day program is a great way to stabilize a behaviorally errant teen while evaluating the potential need for long-term enrollment. Parents who are not be sure whether or not a long-term residential program is necessary may enroll their child in the 90-day program for an evaluation of progress. If we jointly agree that your teen needs long-term care, we will adjust the agreement so that the overall costs are the same as though the child had been enrolled in the chosen long-term program from the beginning. All of our therapeutic and academic resources are applied during the 90-day program.

For teens whose struggles are not as deeply embedded or are not as resistant to change, or who have recently completed a wilderness-style program but need more depth of commitment, our 90-day “tune-up,” which includes the student seminars and all other campus activities and therapeutic resources, may be all that is needed. Students enrolled in this short-term program are provided appropriate academic work to “fill-in” their transcripts at their home school or to prepare for the GED, whichever the family believes is appropriate.
